Out of a possible 6000
businesses, DM Informatics has been recognised as
leading the field in enabling IT to contribute to
increasing profits and reducing costs. As business
owners, that should interest us
all.
"Already owning one care home, in 2003 we heard that Beaconville Nursing
Home was closing," said Director, Mrs Tui Shirley.
Clients had been found alternative accommodation and
staff had been given redundancy notices. We stepped in
with a rescue package 2 weeks before the doors were to
be closed for good. With only 16 (of 35) clients left we
offered to oversee the running of the home for the
duration of the sale / purchase process. At this time there was only one stand-alone computer used by the Accounts
Administrator.
Tui Shirley,
who has Blue Chip IT experience herself,
wanted an IT company that could fulfil her vision of how
the company could move forward, using IT as an
effective tool. After a rigorous selection process DM
Informatics were chosen to analyse the current use of IT and
then implement and support a new IT system that would
transform the way in which the company operated.
DM
Informatics not only produced the software and
computer based administrative system, accessible 24
hrs a day, anywhere in the
world, but installed a network of computers
for the company including wireless access points to
allow 'hot desks' to be created and produced the
website for the two homes, allowing new residents
to see the home and existing families to find out new
information without leaving the confort of their
own home.
This would appear a daunting
task but the local IT firm has not ony
delivered a benefit driven system that saves
time and money but have been presented
with a top award to mark their achievements.
